Outdoor Adventures At These San Diego Campgrounds

Outdoor Adventures At These San Diego Campgrounds

A camping trip as a child was always a memorable experience. A camping trip still holds a special kind of magic for adults as well. In San Diego, our weather is almost picture-perfect almost all year long. Adventures and outdoor adventures are made more enjoyable by that alone. Furthermore, the variety of locations of San Diego RV parks and campgrounds offers so many opportunities to explore the great outdoors.

CAMPLAND ON THE BAY

In San Diego, CA, 2211 Pacific Beach Drive

Phone: (858) 581-4260

The award-winning and pet-friendly Campland on the Bay is one of the most popular campgrounds in San Diego and offers RV and tent camping on the banks of Mission Bay.

We love the beach activities here, including swimming and a hot tub, bicycle rentals, game rooms, skate parks, basketball courts, and of course, campfires on the bay. Summer evenings are also a great time to catch SeaWorld's fireworks.

Guests at the camping area can enjoy an on-site restaurant, a market, an ice cream parlor, along with plenty of activities for children. Laundry services are also available.

With the KQ Ranch Resort in Julian, it's all about the rustic charm of camping upland in the mountains. Atop a secluded mountaintop four miles from town, the five-star RV resort offers a relaxing getaway in the middle of nature.

There are just 15 minutes from downtown San Diego to this popular KOA in San Diego. One of San Diego's most popular camping resorts and a great place to take the family. Guests can camp either in an RV or tent, or rent a deluxe cabin if they prefer not to rough it.

This resort offers a beautiful sandy beach and calm cove waters, in addition to a large outdoor pool and hot tub. You can play basketball, horseshoes, climb a climbing wall, jump on jumping pillows, play on the playground, and play ping pong. There is a new game called Surf Shack Shootout that is very popular. In the resort, pets are welcome, but they are not allowed in the cabins.

SAN DIEGO ZOO SAFARI PARK

This address would be helpful if it were available: 15500 San Pasqual Valley Rd, Escondido, CA 92027

Phone: (760) 747-8702

Campgrounds in San Diego are definitely not the same as those in this camping adventure, but it is too fun not to mention it. In 2013, we surprised our grandchildren with a unique camping experience at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park named Roar and Snore while they were visiting us.

At this incredible animal park, guests enjoyed a 9 x 14-inch tent and sleeping pads. In addition to bunk cots, Vista tents offer a queen bed and two wooden cots. The zoo has glampers, too.
